The most humorous thing about Reiki is that, while it is from Japan you don't really see it in Japan. I have lived in Japan for four, going on five, years now and I have only encountered it once. I hear about it all the time from Americans though. They often cite its popularity in Japan as proof that it must work. Even if that was true it would be the fallacy of an argument from popularity, but it is not even true.
